Defense Industry
Genova’s first contract in the defense industry was secured in 1996 with the U. S. Naval Exchange Command (NEXCOM). This contract spanned over six years and supported various efforts in network design, development, support and integration. Since that time, Genova has continued to expand its business in the defense industry through additional contracts with the U.S. Navy, the Defense Commissary Agency and several contracts with various partners to complete efforts for the Department of Defense.
Our efforts include:
Software Communications Architecture
Software Communications Architecture (SCA) has been declared the software architecture to conform to for all future waveform development on Software Defined Radios (SDR), in particular Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). Genova has worked on projects that included Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) waveform development and SCA Bypass for Software Defined Radios (SDR).
Multifunctional On-The Move Secure Adaptive Integrated Communication
Development and field testing of Multifunctional on-the Move Secure Adaptive Integrated Communication (MOSIAC) for end to end communication services across mobile ad-hoc networks using advanced military radios.
Mobile Mapping Systems
Development of GPS/Mobile mapping systems applications that monitor and display messages from mobile units including their current location, the unit’s movements and other critical positioning data.
Military Aircraft Systems
Development of flight management, guidance and communications systems for military aircraft, as well as the display and management of primary flight data and situational awareness for military rotor wing aircraft.
Unmanned Vehicle Guidance and Communication Systems
Development of guidance and communications systems for Unmanned Vehicles. This included integration of various COTS components to create an all-inclusive heads-up display (HUD) in a vehicle. The prototype combined GPS data, mapping software, multiple video camera feeds, audio feeds, and vehicle sensor data into a single integrated Humvee display.
Network Infrastructure
Design and implementation of a network infrastructure upgrade for the U.S. Navy to provide improved data and network security. The network upgrade included the installation of systems for implementation of a disaster recovery plan.
Order Entry System
Development of a new expedited order entry system for the U.S Navy using web services technology. This included design, testing, and integration with the existing network and systems. The new system enables orders to be created and tracked from any authorized computer on the department network.
