Healthcare Industry
Genova’s experience in the health and human services industry started in 2002 with the University of Iowa Public Health and has continued to grow over the past six years. In addition to partnership with the University of Iowa Public Health and University of Iowa Hospitals, Genova has supported various federal initiatives with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Much of our current work is being completed with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), either as a prime small business contractor or as a sub to our partners.
Electronic Medical Records
Genova worked with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on several medical software initiatives, including Electronic Medical Records, Physician Order Entry, and Resident and Intern Support Software. The hospital has also turned to Genova for assistance in training their staff to write clear, concise requirements specifications for these initiatives.
NCI Data Tracking
Genova is currently working with the University of Iowa’s Public Health Department and the National Cancer Institute on the Cancer Registry data collection application. The Cancer Registry tracks all new cases of cancer in Iowa residents.
The Public Health Department has given Genova the task of developing an application to be used by the field personnel who collect cancer data from Iowa hospitals.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services BPA
Genova is the sole source recipient of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with CMS to perform systems requirements, design analysis and documentation. Since its award, Genova has successfully completed several initiatives, involving all aspects of CMS's mission to help deliver quality health care, ahead of schedule and below budget.
Some of these initiatives include CMS's budget preparation process, Medicare claims processing analysis, network and connectivity examination, and the Continuing Care Improvement Program.
