Dawn Ainger
President & CEO
Dawn Ainger
With nearly two decades of software engineering and Information Technology (IT) consulting experience, Dawn Ainger leads Genova Technologies as its President and CEO. Under Ms. Ainger's guidance, Genova Technologies has become a leading provider of custom software development and staff augmentation for Federal government agencies, healthcare entities and Fortune 500 companies. After she took the helm as owner of the company in 2001, her efforts led to a dramatic expansion of the company's success in both the defense and healthcare sectors.
Ms. Ainger holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Computer Science from the University of Iowa, and graduated with Highest Distinction. It is with this foundation of excellence that she has built a reputation in the IT industry as a strong leader; directing Genova to employ award-winning requirements gathering and analysis to ensure a deep understanding of clients' needs and business goals.
A trusted IT expert, Ainger has given numerous presentations for IEEE, PMI, and has appeared at numerous industry conferences. Ms. Ainger has been the recipient of numerous industry awards. She also serves on the Board of Directors of National Defense Industry Association (NDIA), IowAccess Advisory Council, Iowa Information Technology Council, Technology Association of Iowa Board, eHealth Advisory Council, Cedar Rapids, Iowa Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Women in Defense (WID) and The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
Wayne Schellhammer
Chief Operating Officer/President, Health Care Systems
Wayne Schellhammer
Wayne Schellhammer has over 30 years of health care management experience and is responsible for leading Genova's health care initiatives. Prior to joining Genova Technologies, Mr. Schellhammer served in senior executive roles with a Health Information Management firm contracting with CMS, AHRQ, ONC and other key government agencies.
Mr. Schellhammer has a strong go-to-market background, having served as EVP for Kardia Health, a Mayo Clinic joint venture company. Additionally, Schellhammer was Chairman and CEO for American Care Source (NASDQ: ANCI) and managed the company to its public offering. He also served as a Vice President at Iowa Health System with senior executive responsibilities for several subsidiary companies totaling over $500 Million in revenue and 2500 employees. Mr. Schellhammer has also held senior executive roles with KPMG Consulting, a New York-based HMO, as well as a number of other healthcare groups.
Mr. Schellhammer earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota.
Scott Stimart
President, Defense and Commercial Systems
Scott Stimart
As President of Defense and Commercial Systems at Genova, Scott Stimart is responsible for Government / Defense Programs at Genova as well as programs within the commercial sector. Mr. Stimart has over 30 years of sales, marketing, engineering and business management experience in the industrial chemical and technology industries.
Mr. Stimart began his career as a process engineer in a chemical plant eventually moving into sales engineering and ultimately into sales leadership. Mr. Stimart has held such positions as process engineer, technical director, assistant production superintendent, sales engineer and VP of Sales. He successfully led a $40 million sales organization for a high-end computer hardware/server manufacturer that served the military and telecommunications industries. His engineering background and understanding of process provides Mr. Stimart a unique perspective as a business leader—making him a logical choice to lead Genova's defense and commercial projects.
Mr. Stimart's education includes a BS in Biology / Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Graduate studies in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Randy Bries
Senior Vice President of Engineering, Defense and Commercial Systems
Randy Bries
Randy Bries drives the development of software solutions at Genova. Mr. Bries has over a decade of Project Management experience—he has been responsible for managing and developing projects during all phases of the project lifecycle for large-scale technology projects at companies in the healthcare, transportation and defense industries. In addition, Mr. Bries has more than 15 years of Systems and Software Engineering experience, with expertise in requirements gathering, business process analysis and functional process analysis.
At Genova, Mr. Bries begins development with detailed requirements using Genova's proprietary requirements methodology, design patterns, implementation and integration following Genova's quality assurance processes. He is an experienced professional who specializes in process analysis, application design, application development, and project management.
Mr. Bries is also a proven software developer with 15 years of experience including C/C++ development on Windows, Linux, and embedded POSIX compliant platforms, C#. He has designed and developed Linux based multi-threaded, object-oriented, C++ applications for healthcare, transportation and defense industries, which resulted in reduced response times for customer critical systems, significantly increasing their operational capabilities.
Mr. Bries earned his Bachelor's in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Dubuque.
James Poland

James Poland
James Poland leads the execution of project work generated at Genova's Baltimore office. He is an experienced IT professional with a background in project management, business analysis, business process modeling, database design, application design, and application development.
Mr. Poland leverages over 30 years of Systems Analysis experience in insurance, healthcare, banking, avionics, transportation, food and consumer software industries. He has a proven track record of leading large-scale projects for major corporations—ensuring projects meet client goals and budgets.
Additionally, Mr. Poland has over 20 years of software development experience that he applies to managing programs at Genova. His strong technical background allows him to understand and relay the technical scope of a project.
Mr. Poland holds a bachelor's degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA and is a certified Project Management Professional as well an Oracle Database Administrator.
