CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Genova Technologies, Inc. (Genova) has signed a multi-year contract to provide in-service engineering to the U.S. Department of the Navy, beginning May 1, 2017. The software engineering company—based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa—will support the Navy as a subcontractor to BAE Systems through April 2022.

As a subcontractor, Genova will deliver data migration and support for multiple Navy clients nationwide, including the Fleet Readiness Center for Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport and Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola. Genova’s team is co-located on-site in Keyport, Washington and Pensacola, Florida to support this effort.

“This award not only strengthens our presence with the Navy and partnership with BAE Systems, but also demonstrates our value-add as a responsive, capable software engineering company,” said Josh DeSousa, Government BD and Contracts Manager at Genova.

Since 2007, Genova has supported Washington-based Naval clients, delivering web application development, system migration, combat systems software engineering and data migration support. Genova’s commitment to establishing and developing long lasting partnerships has allowed the company to maintain an active presence in the Navy, thousands of miles away from its headquarters in Eastern Iowa.

In addition to this effort, Genova is pursuing several other targeted opportunities to grow and diversify its engineering services in 2017.

“Over the past five years, we have gone from being primarily a Government contractor to primarily providing commercial software engineering services,” said Genova President Scott Stimart. “We believe that maintaining a balance between our commercial and government services, while also growing our mobile and cloud services division, will provide the best path for long-term growth and stability within the company. This award certainly helps us in that regard.”
